The University of California, in partnership with the state of California, awarded $15 million to grants for UC innovation and entrepreneurship in support of California’s climate action goals. Grants of $1 million were awarded to each of UC’s 10 campuses, the UC Health system, the UC statewide division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the UC statewide Natural Reserve System, and the UC-affiliated Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories.
The two-year grants build on existing innovation and entrepreneurship resources across the University of California system, with a focus on projects that benefit California communities, particularly those most vulnerable to climate disasters or those that have historically faced inequities.
These 15 locally led climate innovation and entrepreneurship programs are delivering local, regional and statewide impacts. Learn more about each project by exploring the interactive Statewide Impact Map.
