Gazing Into the Past and Future at Historic Observatories

When it was completed in 1888, UC Lick Observatory near San Jose boasted some of the best telescopes and observing conditions in the world. Though its facilities have been superseded by more modern equipment, this historic locus of science remains a wonder to visit for astronomers and the public alike.
